This project is a multifunctional vase hook—it is a hook, and it is a vase. It was designed for Southern Sweden Design Days 2025 and the exhibition "Hook Me Up," hosted by Streck Office in Malmö. The premise of the exhibition was simply to design a hook and exhibit it, but it was also about connecting with clients and getting "hooked up."I wanted to create something fun, refreshing, and straightforward. A hook can easily become complicated because it is so simple in its actual function. While I initially felt challenged to design something very technical and smart, I decided to take the opposite direction. There is something refreshing about an almost comical, multifunctional object. In the end, this multifunctional vase hook actually turned out to be a highly decorative and functional object. Who would have thought? The current prototype is 3D printed, but the intended material for production is metal or ceramics, though that is not fully decided yet. Any thoughts on the industrial development are much appreciated—should it be slip casting, die casting, or bending and welding?Functionally, the multifunctional vase hook comes in two separate parts. First, a clean bracket is mounted directly to the wall, and then you simply slide the vase hook in with a secure click. This smart mechanism makes it incredibly easy to slide out whenever you need to change the water.
